What is Long Term Care (LTC)?
Hands-on care or stand-by assistance with activities of daily living. Someone with a prolonged physical illness, a disability, or a cognitive impairment usually needs LTC.

What triggers LTC benefits?
The inability to do activities of daily living (ADLs). Most companies use bathing, continence, dressing, eating, toileting, and transferring. A policy pays benefits when someone cannot do two or three of the six ADLs.

Where do people receive care?
Nursing Home, Assisted Living Facility, or at Home (Home Health Care).
